Accomplishments

2003 - Developers in Raigad district were facing enormous difficulties in construction activities as local dwellers were imposing a lot of restrictions. Local dwellers would often making unreasonable demands to extract money unscrupulously from Real Estate Developers especially in the acquisition of constructions materials for development purposes. To stop this constant bullying and intimidation, the Builders Association Navi Mumbai Raigad (also known as BANM Raigad) was formed with eight members in the year 2003.

2003 - BANM Raigad with the support of Shri Vijay Chaughule (then director, CIDCO) was able to successfully complete the development of 34 meters wide road in Kamothe.

2003 - Tree plantation was conducted by BANM Raigad from Mansarovar station to Mumbai-Pune Highway.

2004 - As per CIDCO's regulations, Real Estate Developers would often have to pay the transfer fees several(~3 to 4) times for construction projects which was becoming a burden for developers. BANM Raigad worked co-operatively with Sushil Kumar Shinde (the then Chief Minister, Maharastra) on this issue, to amend CIDCO's existing policies and developed new policies, by which developers would need to pay the transfer fees only once. This was a great victory for the builder community at large.

2006 - Although Real Estate Development had begun in Mansarovar, there was no Railway station for commuters to make entry to this location. Thus, in order increase accessibility for Mansarovar, BANM Raigad took the initiative to approach Railyway Officials to propose the development of a train station at Mansarovar. And this proposal was transformed into reality under the support and guidance of (then Nagar Vikas Mantri Shri) Rajesh Tope & Shrimati Mandatai Mhatre (MCC - Vidhan Sabha Parisad).

2006 - The High Court had put a stay order to cease all construction activities in Sector 34, 35, 36 of Kamothe even after the local authority CIDCO had given them commencement certificate. The Police stopped any type of construction activities for not complying with the rules of the High Court. And to overcome this issue, BANM Raigad approached the Human Rights authorities. After serious deliberation, BANM Raigad was successful in resuming work in these sectors.

And people from all over India attended these exhibitions. Due to the enormous turnouts at these events, the builder community received a lot of support from buyers from all over the country and were able to make good profits by participating in these grand exhibitions.

2015 - 2016 - CIDCO had initiated the 12.5% scheme to encourage developers develop the nodes of Kamothe, Karanjade, Kalamboli, Roadpali & Ulwe. However, due to certain internal issues, developers were unable to take advantage of this opportunity. And after several meetings and working cooperatively with CIDCO officials, BANM Raigad was able to turn around this situation, which helped the builder community to take advantage of this opportunity successfully. This process is still underway and more and more developers are being given this opportunity to participate in this scheme.

2015 - 2016 - BANM Raigad took great initiatives to facilitate the development of infrastructure in Karanjade. Previous to this initiative, people in this area faced enormous water crisis for over two years. Also there were no electric meters setup in the area. As BANM Raigad and CIDCO worked cooperatively on this issue, they were able to successfully mitigate the problems of the local residents in this node.
